A small group of us recently took the opportunity to visit Jump Space – Control Group’s charity of the year – to learn a little more about the amazing work that they do for children and adults with disabilities. It was a great chance to update them on how our fundraising is going. So far, we’re pleased to have raised an impressive £500 – however we intend to increase this tenfold – with a target of £5000 to achieve by October!
Our main fundraising event is the national Three Peaks Challenge and training is going well.
We have completed four training walks at Kinder Scout, Dovedale, Mam Tor and Kinder again). A recent goal was to climb the second highest mountain in Wales, Carnedd Llewelyn. However, because of the ‘Beast from the East’ battering us with snow, the weather forecast in Snowdonia was a FREEZING minus 26 degrees with wind-chill. We decided to postpone that climb and go back to Kinder to see what it was like in the snow. The mountain was completely different, with frozen waterfalls and everything covered in ice. We also found a huge snow slide which we enjoyed sliding down.
